Replacement charges

The replacement charge covers replacement and binding costs. A special price may be charged for items which are particularly expensive. This also applies to videos, although videos from SFC are replaced free of charge. The library may demand replacement of the entire work if the book is part of a series.

Although compensation in full has been made, no claim may be made to the item which has been replaced. The borrower cannot compensate by providing the replacement item. Books lent by other libraries must be replaced according to the claims made by the relevant libraries.

Please note that your own insurance may cover theft. If the lost item is later recovered undamaged, the replacement charge may be reimbursed within half a year upon the production of a receipt.
